JB Hi-Fi Device Care Terms and Conditions for Repair
The following terms and conditions will apply between JB Hi-Fi Group Pty Ltd (ACN 093 114 286) ("JB Hi-Fi") and "you", the person submitting your goods for assessment and/or repair.
- You are lodging a product care enquiry, which may result in your goods being submitted to JB Hi-Fi for assessment and/or repair. These terms apply to the assessment and repair of your goods.
- You confirm that the goods were purchased from JB Hi-Fi.
- JB Hi-Fi may assess and/or repair goods itself or may send your goods to the relevant repair company which has been approved by the manufacturer of the goods.
- If the goods were purchased from JB Hi-Fi and you are entitled to a free repair under your statutory rights or manufacturer\'s warranty your goods will be repaired free of charge.
- If you are not entitled to a free repair under your statutory rights or manufacturer\'s warranty (for example because you have caused a fault yourself or because these rights and your warranty have expired) JB Hi-Fi will provide you with a quote for the cost of JB Hi-Fi or the repair company doing the repair. You may accept or reject this quote. If you accept it your goods will be repaired by JB Hi-Fi or the repairer and you will have to pay for this repair.
- Where you have to pay for a repair JB Hi-Fi will only return the goods to you once you have paid JB Hi-Fi for the repair.
- JB Hi-Fi will only accept goods for assessment/repair where it believes that they were purchased from JB Hi-Fi. If, having accepted goods for assessment/repair, JB Hi-Fi discovers that this was not the case, JB Hi-Fi may require you to pay the repair company’s assessment fee before returning the goods to you.
- If you reject a quote for the goods to be repaired the goods will be returned to you. If your goods have been submitted for assessment and no fault can be found with your goods they will be returned to you.
- JB Hi-Fi aims to return your goods to you within 4 weeks. However, JB Hi-Fi cannot guarantee return times, and assessments and/or repairs may take longer than this. In particular, return may take longer if you need to accept a quote for the cost to you of the repair before any repairs can take place. Except as required by law, JB Hi-Fi shall not be liable for any delay in the goods being assessed, repaired and/or returned to you
- If you have any other queries about your goods whilst they are being assessed or repaired, you should contact the JB Hi-Fi Device Care Team on 1300 746 752.
- As soon as practicable after JB Hi-Fi receives your goods from the repair company or JB Hi-Fi has completed the repair JB Hi-Fi will try to contact you using the contact details provided by you. Please note that if,
- JB Hi-Fi has tried to contact you on at least 3 occasions using the contact details provided by you and is unable to do so; or
- you do not collect your goods within 6 months of being notified that your goods are ready for collection,
then JB Hi-Fi may (subject to the law) dispose of your goods as JB Hi-Fi sees fit, and JB Hi-Fi shall have no liability to you for doing this.
- Goods presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished goods of the same type rather than being repaired. Refurbished parts may be used to repair the goods.
- It is possible that, during assessment or repair, user-generated data stored on your goods or storage media may be erased. Neither JB Hi-Fi nor the repair company accepts any liability for the loss of such data. JB Hi-Fi suggests that you back up any such data before submitting the goods for assessment and/or repair. Examples of user-generated data are: songs, photos, contact details, games, documents, videos and other forms of data created by the user.
- Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall be read or applied so as to exclude, restrict or modify or have the effect of excluding, restricting or modifying any condition, warranty, guarantee, right or remedy implied by law (including the Australian Consumer Law) which by law cannot be excluded, restricted or modified.
- JB Hi-Fi’s privacy policy (available on the JB Hi-Fi website) contains information about how JB Hi-Fi will handle your personal information, and other information required to be disclosed by JB Hi-Fi to you under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). You should read JB Hi-Fi’s privacy policy before providing any personal information to JB Hi-Fi. By providing the personal information requested, you agree to JB Hi-Fi’s privacy policy.
